How to Stay Connected with Organizations Post-Presidential Election Year
Staying connected with organizations, especially after a politically charged time like a presidential election, can help us- content creators- maintain momentum and relationships. Here are a few strategies to help you maintain those bonds effectively:
- Engage in Non-Political Campaigns
- Organizations often have a broader mission beyond elections. Support their efforts by creating content around ongoing advocacy or social issues they champion year-round
- Organically interact with organizations by engaging with them on socials; ie: follow, comment on posts, reposting their content
- Schedule Regular Check-Ins
- Reach out periodically to organizations you’ve partnered with during the election season
- Set up a quarterly check-in, even if it’s just an informal email or a virtual coffee
- Use important dates like election anniversaries, policy wins, or other notable moments to reconnect
- Find Mutual Benefit
- Continue highlighting mutual goals, such as community engagement, policy advocacy, or public education (see below for examples)
- Offer content ideas/ join campaigns that can align with their ongoing objectives
- Keep Advocating for the Cause
- Continue to speak on relevant issues in your content, linking back to the organizations that champion them
- Showcasing sustained interest in the cause will keep you on their radar for future collaborations
